Hackney Singer-Songwriter Bertie Newman Shares His New Track ‘Home’

Emerging British singer-songwriter Bertie Newman has unveiled his latest single, “Home,” bringing his debut EP I Will to a captivating conclusion.

Highly praised by the likes of BBC Introducing and Atwood Magazine, Newman’s music reflects his personal struggles and victories, presenting a raw and intimate soundscape that deeply resonates with listeners. His previous song “I Will” received commendation for its enchanting melody, while “Wasted On Me” stood out with its vibrant acoustic-pop flavor, described as “achingly intimate, tender, and raw.”

“Home” continues the introspective narrative of the EP, delicately addressing topics such as neurodivergence, anxiety, relationships, and personal growth. The single stands as a testament to Newman’s ability to connect on a profound level through his music, demonstrating that art can serve as a powerful bridge between different experiences and perceptions.

This sentiment is particularly poignant for Newman, who received an ADHD diagnosis at the age of 22. Long before the diagnosis, he sensed a divergence in his experiences, which led him to express his unique journey through his songwriting. This resulted in the creation of his thought-provoking EP, aptly titled Thoughts So Loud.

Newman, a native of Hackney, finds inspiration in the styles of artists like Bon Iver, Hozier, and Gregory Alan Isakov, which echoes in his alluring indie-folk compositions.

One of the standout tracks from his EP, “Seaside Eyes,” garnered over 2 million streams on Apple Music and also gained editorial support on the platform, featuring in playlists like ‘Acoustic Chill’ and ‘New in Singer-Songwriter.’
