This is the first time hearing of Jules Burns. Somewhat skeptical about listening to a new artist’s EP, the projects cover art intrigued me. This man sitting atop a green landscape, alone staring into the clouds (meditating maybe) must be talking about things of substance. After listening to Memorybilia, I can say that from the lyrical content to the electronic experimentation, he gives a real interpretation of his sound that is inventive and not to be boxed in one genre. Where new artists today are trying to brand themselves sonically, it’s refreshing to hear someone who brings forth the unconventional. I have “Alone In This Town” on repeat. But you’ll have to listen to EP as a whole for yourself.
