Music Producer Lord Vanger Releases New Album ‘LEAP’

Lord Vanger, also known as Anthony Vanger, has released his sixth album, LEAP, a pop record that explores themes of redemption and rebirth. The album features tough lyrics in the verses, but contrasted with super catchy hooks and soaring melodies in the chorus. Despite tackling difficult subject matters, the album has an overall positive and uplifting tone.

Vanger, a music producer at Sixieme Son, one of the world’s top music and sonic production companies, previously worked under the name Operatica, signed to Emagine music.

His three albums in the US sold over 300,000 copies, with songs combining opera with electronica reaching #9 on the US Billboard Dance Charts, #5 on the US Crossover Charts, and #1 on iTunes. Vanger’s tracks were also widely used in TV shows, including in the finale of Queer As Folk and America’s Top Model.

Vanger got his start in music working in John Taylor’s (Duran Duran) studio in Los Angeles. He was part of the production team behind the Roxy Music tribute album Dream Home Heartaches: Remaking/Remodeling Roxy Music, playing piano, drums, and vocals.

Vanger also worked as a pro tools and drum engineer for Massive Attack, Macy Gray, Sade side band Sweetback, and the New Radicals’ seminal pop album “Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too.”

During this period in L.A., Vanger learned to combine the power of sampling with analogue record techniques, which defined the sound of his work. LEAP is a distillation of that philosophy, with strong songwriting, live musicians, and layered electronica.
