As we get closer to the release date of the new Stranger Things season, on October, 27, Netflix has unveiled some new images to give us a preview of what will go down between the characters and the alternate dimension known as Upside Down. The release date is not an accident, indeed it is very close to Halloween because this season is settled in 1984 during this festival.
The creators, Ross and Matt Duffer, have revealed to EW that this season has to be seen as a sequel and not as an independent story. “When we started describing it as a sequel, Netflix was like, ‘Don’t do that, because sequels are known to be bad.’ I was like, ‘Yes, but what about T2 and Aliens and Toy Story 2 and Godfather II?’“.
In this season we will see returning cast members, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), Will Byers (Noah Schnapps), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour). There are also some new faces such as Sean Astin, known for his role as Sam in The Lord of the Rings, and Dacre Montgomery.
