Ricky Wilson On Leaving ‘The Voice’: ‘Life Goes On’ | TV News
After being a judge for three series, it looks like Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson will be vacating his chair on The Voice; which will leave Will.i.am as the only familiar face on the panel next series. Despite his departure being a hard choice to make, Wilson confirmed he’s having no second thoughts on his decision.
Speaking to Radio Times, Wilson graciously admitted he’s hopeful for the future: “They’ll be other things. Life moves on”. He continued, hinting that he’s spun round in his chair too many times and enough is enough – “I’ve done it for three years now“.
His departure comes ahead of the singing competition’s move to ITV in 2017, following the BBC‘s decision to sell the programme for £22 million after five series. The current series also welcomed new judges Paloma Faith and Boy George, to which Wilson confirmed they’re all getting on “amazingly well”. Let’s hope he goes out with a bang by picking the winner.
