The famous hit series The Witcher is getting its own prequel, which is currently in the works at Netflix. The series is titled The Witcher: Blood Origin, and Irish actor Laurence O’Fuarain has landed its lead role.
The actor will be playing the character of Fjall that has sadly lost people he loved while saving his own life. And we will see Fjall struggling with that pain left inside him. To try and make peace with himself, he will go on a quest to revenge his loved ones.
Regarding the story itself, it takes place place in an elven world 1200 years before the start of the one and only The Witcher. The prequel will be about being lost to time, the creation of the first Witcher, and the events that lead to the character – when the worlds of monsters and supernatural creatures, men, and elves become one.
Laurence will be playing alongside Jodie Turner-Smith who will play Eile, and also Henry Cavill, but we don’t have information on his role yet.
For the moment, we know there should be six episodes with Declan de Barra as the executive producer and showrunner, with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich on production. We don’t have any official release dates or any trailer for the series, but we should soon get the full cast and more information on the premise
