Back in 2020, Australian actress Ruby Rose had decided to leave the CW series Batwoman after only one season.
Ruby Rose announced her departure in May 2020 and told The Hollywood Reporter: “I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season. This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles”.
After much speculation about the future of Ruby Rose’s character, Kate Kane, who is Bruce Wayne‘s cousin, her replacement has been revealed. British actress Wallis Day will take over the role of Kate Kane from Ruby Rose.
Wallis Day let her enthusiasm speak for itself by tweeting, “Super excited to finally announce I’m joining the cast of Batwoman. I’m sure you can imagine how much this means to me and how incredible it’s been working on the show so far. Everyone’s made me feel so welcome and it’s amazing being back home with my DC family”.
Wallis Day made her entrance in the last episode of the show, she appeared wearing bandages on her face after the devastating plane crash that her character, Kate Kane, suffered and she is being held hostage in a basement somewhere in Gotham.
We hope that Wallis Day will be able to continue to successfully reprise the role of Kate Kane but we are not sure if she will be taking up the role of Gotham City’s Batwoman, which is now being played by Javicia Leslie.
