Ariana Grande Responds To A Body Shaming Comment | Music News
The world has a long way to go when it comes to acceptance and respect of physical appearance. On November 2, Ariana Grande showcased a comment on Twitter that shamed the singer for looking like “sticks”, a.k.a. not curvy like Ariel Winter. “[Y]ou know what is NOT sexy?” Grande wrote, “misogyny, objectifying, labeling, comparing and body shaming!!! talking about people’s body’s as if they’re on display ASKING for your approval/ opinion. THEY ARE NOT!!!! CELEBRATE YOURSELF. CELEBRATE OTHERS”.
Winter also responded in support of Grande and the two exchanged uplifting, positive messages to one another. Grande has spoken out about feminist issues on Twitter before and clearly isn’t afraid to call people out for being oppressive.
