Conversations About Her

Courtney Barnett Plays Secret Gig On Camden High Street | Music News

Courtney Barnett thrilled her fans on social media by hinting that she planned to play somewhere in London on August 17, but no one knew where. On the 15th of August, she tweeted a picture with the title of her song “Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To the Party” scrawled in black font against a white background. The caption read: “London Monday 6pm x“. The song is taken from Barnett’s debut album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit which was released earlier this year.

On Monday evening, her band set up by the Camden Town tube station and started playing. Barnett played the advertised song more than once before offering to play a few more for the eager crowd. Watch a video of the performance below and, if you’d like to see Barnett at a specified time and place, check out her tour dates here.
