SHIRT – Pachuga Sunrise | New Music

Two years ago, Queensbridge emcee, SHIRT, dropped a largely ignored album, RAP LP. It was a 10 track, half hour, feature-free project. Those lucky few to obtain a physical copy of it got a bonus secret song at the end of the CD, “Pachuga Sunrise”.

The track samples Minus The Bear’s “Pachuca Sunrise”, and is adapted by DJ Red. The backdrop evokes the dreary and depressing in life, but is beautiful in its melancholy. He really vents in this one, passionate and pouring his guts out in the track. The closing moments in the track segue from the aforementioned backdrop to what can only be described as primal jazz horns of some sort.

I've always wanted to be involved in the media since before I even left school; to write for a living.I feel most eloquent when mapping out my thoughts on paper or on a computer screen.I studied media at college for two years, and went straight into third year at university studying publishing with journalism. After a range of work experience, I did a magazine journalism course in Bournemouth, a long way away from my hometown of Aberdeen, achieving my NCTJ qualifications. Now I spend my time gladly writing about music.
