60’s American rock band The Doors are set to release a 40-minute cut concert tour film from 1968. Feast Of Friends which originally was only shown at a selected few film festivals in the US, is set to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray early November this year.
Filming took around five months, and sees the band performing live on stage at around twenty different American cities as well as aboard a Hawaiian sailing boat. Just before his big break into acting stardom, with film American Graffiti, Harrison Ford is also said to have been among one of the documentary’s filming crew and worked as a humble camera technician.
Single releases such as “Hello, I Love You” and “Light My Fire” made the Los Angeles psychedelic rock quartet one of the best selling bands in music history, with record sales of over 100 million records worldwide. The Doors were also the first group to ever accumulate eight consecutive gold and platinum LPs. For Door fans this is worth a look in.
