Amazon Studios has confirmed that it has added Wayne Che Yip as co-executive producer to join the team working on its Lord Of The Rings adaptation series.
The British-Chinese director is set to direct four episodes of the show, with J.A. Bayona, who previously worked on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, having already directed the first two episodes of the upcoming Amazon adaptation.
Despite the director change, the rest of the cast including Robert Aramayo, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark and Ismael Cruz Cordova stays the same.
It’s worth mentioning that Wayne Che Yip is a huge professional and his name is behind such works as Doctor Who (season 10), Doom Patrol, Hunters, Utopia as well as another Amazon upcoming series The Wheel Of Time.
In his statement Wayne said, “It is a true honor to be invited into the world of Tolkien by J.D. & Patrick and Amazon Studios. Every day I look forward to working with the incredible team here in New Zealand as we humbly contribute to the legacy of the greatest stories ever told”.
The Lord Of The Rings Amazon series is probably one of the most anticipated series of the decade. Reportedly, the show will focus on the return of evil to Middle-earth. The four episodes that are to be directed by Wayne Che Yip will take place years before the events of the original stories of Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit novels by J.R.R. Tolkien.
The release date of the long-awaited series is not known yet but it will surely be great news for Hobbit fans as well as all movie lovers!
