Mallrat – Groceries | Music Video

After treating us with that absolute bop that was “UFO“, featuring rapper Allday, Mallrat has dropped the visuals for her single “Groceries“.

The Aussie from Brisbane is working hard to promote her latest EP In The Sky. The 5 tracks project has been heavily featured on the radio, thanks to the songs’ pop and catchy sound accompanied by candid and honest lyrics.

Mallrat, at only 19 years old, is a force that needs to be reckoned with. She brings a wave of freshness that comes through with her lyrics about teenage crushes and heartbreaks. Something all of us can easily relate to.

“Groceries” is a lovely offering that has Mallrat at her best. The music is catchy without being trivial or predictable. The lyrics highlight Mallrat’s strongest traits, with the singer candidly singing “This sucks, I’m lovesick, too important to rush this/I’d miss our kiss if it ever left my lips“.

The video, as the previous ones, frames the singer in her native land. Beautifully simple, the clip sees the Aussie fooling around with that childish and naive attitude that perfectly describe the singer. Wise behind her years, Mallrat has not lost that innocence that many of her fellow artists lose once they hit big. And this is precisely what makes Mallrat exquisitely unique and a joy to listen to.
