Nashville singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis has released her new single “Psychos“, which is coming with her brand-new album Joy’all arriving on Blue Note/EMI Records on June 9!

Indeed the singer-songwriter started writing some songs before the pandemic and then joined a songwriting workshop where she had to write a song per day for 7 days back at home in Nashville. While the guidelines given by Beck and the unusual instructions, the days follows and this is how Jenny Lewis wrote her first song, “Puppy And A Truck” for her album.

What we could feel while listening to her album is a mix between soul and 90’s R&B where you can find some classic songwriter records. It makes the album very rich and intimate thanks to the warm live sound of her producer Dave Cobb, who has won a Grammy Award eight times.

While listening to the song you can hear an entertaining rhythm and some lyrics that sound like rock’n’roll worship and explaining in her song that she is not a psycho while talking about the merry-go-round of life.

The singer is also explaining that one day in Nashville she saw an outfit that once belonged to the songwriter Skeeter Davis and since she was very inspired by him, this ensemble became a timeless centerpiece of her new album Joy’all.
