EKKAH – Can’t Give It Up | Music Video

EKKAH, the London via Birmingham duo of Rebecca Wilson and Rebekah Pennington, share a video for new track, “Can’t Give It Up”. This is ahead of the duo’s debut album coming on RCA, and the last few months have seen then support the likes of Jess Glynne, Kylie Minogue and their hero Nile Rodgers. See below for tour dates.

“Can’t Give It Up” certainly has a funky, Nile Rodgers vibe to it. The bass synths are a giveaway to suggest otherwise, perhaps. It works well, though, adding a certain moodiness to the track. Licks of guitar build to a crescendo before that moody bass returns, all amidst vocals with very sexy posture.

The best way to describe the very trippy visuals is to liken them to a sort of kaleidoscope effect. The background swirls with multiple variations of colour. You could daresay this was performed in front of one of those green screens that propel much of the fantasy pumped out by Hollywood. Perhaps a less polished version of Tinseltown, and satisfying in that.
