Fan Missing After Falling Overboard At Major Lazer’s Boat Party | Music News
A woman has been reported missing after falling overboard at the Mad Decent Boat Party hosted by Major Lazer in Mexico yesterday (November 12).
The ship set sail from Miami on Wednesday (November 11) and was headed for Cozumel, Mexico. The line up for the dance music festival included Diplo, MO, Skrillex and Major Lazer, but since the accident, the stages have been closed down and the boat has turned around to join the rescue mission.
Mad Decent issued the following statement, in which they claim the woman jumped on purpose:
“During the chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel. The ship’s crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.”
