Since the release of Views, Drake’s critics and fans alike have been divided. The reception so far, has been lukewarm at best, which is strange for an album that has been hyped for so long. However, sometimes the hype is too much and the expectations can’t be met.

Many feel it’s Drake’s most uninspired, safest album yet, and that all in all, he’s out of ideas. Personally, I enjoyed it, and I feel it’s his best work, although it isn’t without fault. I can see both sides of the argument. Someone who’s been a longtime Drake fan, who just so happens to be in the music business himself has came out, vocalising how he feels about the project. That person is Joe Budden.

Joe Budden who hosts a podcast called ‘I’ll Name This Podcast Later’, posted a clip from the podcast where he praises “40”, Drake’s producer, while saying Drake is uninspired. Here’s an excerpt:

I think that that kid on that album that I heard sounds real f**kin’ uninspired. That’s what I think. I think that that music is real good. You can’t fool a real ni**a… That music sounds good and I enjoyed it… 40, you sound amazing. 40 continues to progress. Drake, you do not”.

Despite the mixed reception, it hasn’t affected Drake’s sales, within the first two days, Views was streamed 820,000 times between Canada and the USA. Listen to the full Podcast below.

I love Music, I love writing and I’m a weirdo.
My favourite genres are Rap, R&B, Pop & some Metal for good measure, (Hail Satan and all that). Unfortunately for you, I’m not Batman, nor am I Spiderman, I’m just a human being who’s trying to follow his passion for Music, hoping to achieve some level of success. I enjoy Film, watching TV series (the gruesome kind, such as Hannibal, may it R.I.P.) and I enjoy Art; creating and admiring. All in all, you’ve heard it all before, so I’ll let my writing do the talking! http://lamusique-et-lafolie.tumblr.com

Have your say....
