Young Braves – Hunters | New Music

Young Braves are an alternative rock band from Shropshire. Aged from 21 to 23, It’s composed of Ollie Scott (lead vocals & guitar), Jacob Ferguson (guitar, synths & backing vocals), Elliot Scott (bass & backing vocals) and Max Powell (drums & percussion).

They take their inspiration from Pixies, Foals, Radiohead and Kings of Leon to create their catchy, exciting and explosive sound. They started playing together at school, but it’s only been eight months that they started a real push as Young Braves.

After support slots with the liked of Little Comets, The Sherlocks and The Amazons, the band has been focusing on creating new music.

Thus, their single “1984” was Record of the Day by BBC Introducing Shropshire in September. Also, “Sleep It Off” picked up plays on BBC 6 Music as well as featured on Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlist.

On November 1, they released their fourth single of 2019 titled “Hunters”. It’s a dystopian blast of anthemic alternative indie-pop. It showcases layered swooping guitar riffs, driving percussion and soaring keys. It’s an indie banger that makes us feel young again, it’s liberating and will take you into another world.

Ollie describes its lyrics as a love story:

In terms of the lyrics, the song isn’t based on personal events but a story about being with a girl who won’t let her guard down. She tries to mask her insecurities by saying hurtful things: ‘It’s so subtle when you say you hate me / I feel so lucky when you say I’m useless’ and she tries to push you away by being so closed (off) and untrusting: ‘Admission is tribal, you try to set me up and again you’re tearful / It’s an evil’”.
