Jay-Z‘s label Roc Nation has just boosted their R&B talent department by signing 21-year-old Indianapolis singer Maeta.
The label has informed the media that their relationship with the rising star starts with her releasing her new EP Habits which is due for April 30 featuring a lead single “Toxic” accompanied with a music video. Produced by Skrillex, the track features Beam and reveals a couple of lovers who got trapped in a toxic relationship.
Omar Grant, Roc Nation Co-President commented on the signing, “Maeta has one of those rare natural voices that will stop you in your tracks. When I heard her sing live for the first time, she already had the poise, presence, and instincts of a much more established artist. I’m so glad she is beginning her career at Roc Nation.”
Respectively, Maeta shared her excitement on the new phase in her life: “I can’t believe I’m officially part of the Roc Nation family! I am so thankful to Omar Shari, and the rest of the team for embracing me and believing in my dream!”
Asa matter of fact, Maeta began her music path by posting songs on Soundcloud and Instagram as a teenager. In November 2019, she moved to Los Angeles and started her music career with her debut EP Do Not Disturb.
