Kent Singer And Songwriter Aphrah Shares Emotive New Single ‘Are You There’ | Music News

Coming on the back of the success of her last single “Another Night”, which saw her garner support from the likes of BBC Introducing and Cene Magazine, and amass over 70,000 streams on Spotify, Kent-based singer and songwriter Aphrah returns with her brand new single titled “Are You There”, which is co-written and produced by Rhiannon Mair.

Merging her electronica and pop music sensibilities as well as the ethereal soundscape, with her penchant for songwriting and emotive vocal performance, Aphrah tackles the struggle of grief and loss on “Are You There”, making for an affecting piece of alt-pop for listeners to sink their teeth into.

Speaking about the inspiration for “Are You There”, Aphrah says, “When I wrote ‘Are You There’ with Rhiannon Mair who also produced the track, I was thinking about feelings of loss, grief and sorrow, and finding ways to express those feelings whilst also searching for hope in the midst of dark times.

I wanted to capture different types of loss whether that be losing a loved one or the emptiness of a broken relationship, yet in all of that, instead of bottling those feelings up, I wanted to create a space to grieve, recognise the sadness and cry out for circumstances to shift, bring hope, healing and new beginnings”.
