Leeds Musician Clare Kelly Debuts New Single ‘Breathe’ | Music News

 

“Breathe”, the new single from Clare Kelly comes with an empowering and positive message that is described as “perfect for listeners around the world who are isolating and dealing everyday with self-reflection and anxiety“, and according to Kelly, the song is about “trusting your gut and making your own decisions to get to where you want to be in life“.

 

Coming on the back of the release of her debut EP Elusive Yusef, “Breathe” sees the Leeds-born singer and songwriter Clare Kelly offering a distinctly unique vocal that is soothing and comforting, as well as well-crafted emotive and brutally honest lyrics that inspire strength in the listener.

 

Counting the likes of BBC Introducing and Counterfeit Magazine as huge fans, Kelly describes her sound as ‘mer-folk’ music and for fans of the likes of Angel Olsen, Antony And The Johnsons, and London Grammar, and she takes inspiration from vintage storytellers like Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Nicks that have shaped her ‘mer-folk’ sound.
