Maximo Park On Track For UK #1 Album With ‘Nature Always Wins’ | Music News

The new Maximo Park album Nature Always Wins is on track for the number one spot on the UK album chart for the first time, and is currently leading the race in the Official Chart mid-week update. It is a very tight race because Alice Cooper’s Detroit Stories is only 1,500 copies behind them, and is the best-selling album on CD at the halfway mark.

Maximo Park made their debut in 2005 with A Certain Trigger, which caught the attention of NME, while earning the Mercury Music Prize nomination, and their 2007 album Our Earthly Pleasures was number two on the UK album chart, with the band now having a chance of landing a UK #1 album this week.

Detroit Stories could mark Cooper’s best UK chart position since 1989’s album Trash landed at #2 on the UK charts, while metalcore band Architects could also land their first UK top 10 album with For Those That Wish To Exist, as they are currently in third place according to the latest Chart Update, being the most downloaded LP during the past weekend.

In the UK Singles Chart, there is not much competition, with Olivia Rodrigos’s “Drivers Lisence” still the best seller this week, and is on the way of an eighth straight week at #1, which is really impressive. The full Official UK Singles and Albums Charts will be released later today, March 5.
