British Nigerian rap artist Kida Kudz has recently released a brand new single furiously titled “Animalistic” which comes with a captivating music video!

Blending afrobeats and his ‘Afro Jiggy’ music styles, “Animalistic” was written on the day when one of Kida Kuzi’s family members passed away. The song explores quite personal matters and talks about the topic of incarceration and the discomfort and cultural issues around it. The song make you vibe and relate to its powerful message at the same time!

Kida spoke on the recently-released song:” Writing ‘Animalistic’ was a spiritual process for me. I woke up early one morning, grabbed my pen and paper… started jotting down to the instrumental and tapped into the forces I needed; the lyrics just flowed from me. I was painting a perfect picture of an African boy speaking to his people, trying to preach to them in a kind of way.”

“Animalistic” is also accompanied by a music video directed by iO Filmworks with a symbolic and conceptual vision. The clip shows Kida performing his powerful lines in a front of a burning bus and a fire alongside his people: “Animalistic, I’m a beast from within / Where you come from? Whats your origin? Got a dream but you’re not committing“. The visuals explore the topic of the song and complement it in the best way.

Kida Kudz was raised with immense love for music. His vision was influenced by such icons as Lil Wayne, Tupac, DMX, Tuface, Fela Kuti, Haruno Ishola and Ebenezer Obey. At the age of 14, he followed his destiny and moved to London to study music-related subjects first in school and then at the university. As a young African immigrant Kida faced issues of acceptance and identity, but it was the music that settled him down.

Throughout his career Kida has already collaborated with Ms Banks, Pa Salieu, Burna Boy, Chip and others. Moreover, Kudz has gained co-signs from Playboi Carti and ASAP Rocky, with support from Hypebeast, Complex, Clash, GRM Daily and countless other.
