KOKO And Pablo Nouvelle Collaborate On ‘Freak’ Remix | Music News

Bristol electronic pop group KOKO have linked up with Pablo Nouvelle to deliver an exciting new remix of their debut single “Freak“, turning the electro-tinged indie and hip hop leaning track into a head bopping disco led jam.

According to the band, which is made up of Oliver Garland (vocals) Harry Dobson (bass, synth) and Ashley C (synths, lead guitar), “Freak” is a “FU to the man! We’re telling you to be whoever, or whatever, you want. Embrace individuality“.

Influenced by The Weeknd, Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar, the band are clearly heavily inspired by hip hop music, which they say informs their songwriting style, especially the freestyling element of the culture, as they explain, “we’ll make some beats in the studio and then lay stuff down. If it works, it works—if not then we just move onto the next thing”.

Swiss DJ, producer and filmmaker Pablo Nouvelle on the other hand, just released his latest project Atlas Internet Cafe a couple of weeks ago, led by opening track “Curiosity”, which you can listen to here.

KOKO are set to headline The Waiting Room in London on January 22, and while we wait for that and more music for 2020, check out their new Pablo Nouvelle remix of “Freak” below.
